Indie game developers release new playable demos

Several indie game developers have announced new playable content and release windows. Milktooth, a London-based studio, has released a free demo for Bad Magpie on Steam and Xbox for PC. The narrative adventure follows a one-winged magpie collecting shiny objects in a non-linear open world. The full game is scheduled for a 2027 release.

Windup Games has also launched a free PC demo for Hela: of Mice & Magic, available since October 8. The demo focuses on movement and puzzle mechanics within a forest setting. While the full version will include features such as remedy brewing and four-player online co-op, these elements are excluded from the current demo. The complete title is expected to launch on December 1, 2026.
