Indigenous producers from Rondolândia win five coffee awards

Indigenous producers from Rondolândia won five awards at the 1st Mato Grosso Coffee Quality Contest, held in Juína on October 31. The event brought together over 500 people and featured exhibitors of coffee, cheese, sweets, and other family farming products.

The contest was organized by the Mato Grosso State Government through the State Secretariat of Family Agriculture (Seaf-MT), in partnership with Sebrae-MT and with technical support from Empaer. The initiative aims to recognize grain quality and expand the presence of Amazonian Robusta coffee in regional, national, and international markets.

Mato Grosso currently has 29 coffee-producing municipalities and more than 400 families involved in the activity. The contest program began in June in Colniza, the state's largest coffee producer, and concluded in Juína, a city where coffee played a significant role in the local economy during the late 1980s and 1990s.
