IndiGo flight returns to London Heathrow after technical fault
IndiGo flight 6E 04, a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner traveling from London Heathrow to New Delhi, was forced to make an emergency return to London following a technical issue shortly after takeoff.
The aircraft reached an altitude of approximately 24,000 feet over the English Channel when the technical problem was identified. Following standard operating procedures, the pilots declared an emergency and requested priority landing clearance from Air Traffic Control. The plane landed safely back at London Heathrow.
IndiGo confirmed that all passengers and crew members are safe. The airline stated that the aircraft is currently undergoing intensive maintenance inspections and will only return to service once all necessary technical and safety approvals are obtained. To assist affected passengers, the airline is providing hotel accommodations and rebooking them on the next available flights.
