IndiGo launches freighter service from Navi Mumbai as Hyderabad Airport adds Emirates SkyCargo route

IndiGo has begun scheduled freighter operations from the newly built Navi Mumbai International Airport, operating its first Airbus A321 cargo flight to Sharjah. The service is part of the airline’s plan to expand a dedicated cargo network from the greenfield hub, which offers greater capacity and modern infrastructure compared with the congested Mumbai airport. IndiGo reported cargo revenue of ₹2,483 crore in FY2025‑26 and transported about 450,000 tonnes of freight during the year.

Separately, GMR Hyderabad International Airport has inaugurated an Emirates SkyCargo Boeing 777 freighter service linking Taipei, Hyderabad and Dubai. The new corridor is intended to boost trade in high‑value goods such as pharmaceuticals, electronics and perishables, providing direct access from Taiwan’s semiconductor ecosystem to Hyderabad’s life‑sciences and technology sectors and onward connections through Dubai to a global network of destinations.
