IndiGo to launch Gaya-Bangkok non-stop flights in October

IndiGo has announced the commencement of non-stop, bi-weekly flights between Gaya, Bihar, and Bangkok, Thailand, scheduled to begin on October 26. The new route aims to strengthen the airline’s India-Thailand network and facilitate direct travel between the two locations, which share significant Buddhist heritage. The service is intended to enhance international connectivity from Bihar and promote regional tourism and economic development.

Data from the Ministry of Civil Aviation indicates that India’s scheduled domestic airlines transported 729.40 lakh passengers between January and May 2026, a 1.91 per cent year-on-year increase. In May alone, passenger numbers rose by 9.49 per cent month-on-month. IndiGo remains the market leader with a 64.9 per cent market share as of May, followed by the Air India Group at 25.6 per cent and Akasa Air at 5.8 per cent.
