Indikator Indonesia Denies Publishing 2029 Presidential Candidate Survey

A PDF document listing 32 potential presidential and vice‑presidential candidates for Indonesia’s 2029 election was circulated, claiming it originated from the polling institute Indikator Politik Indonesia. The 26‑page file, dated 14‑24 July 2026, presented “top‑of‑mind” popularity rankings and simulated candidate pools of ten, five and smaller groups, along with reported support levels among respondents.

The institute’s founder and executive director Burhanuddin Muhtadi, in a letter signed on behalf of director Fauny Hidayat, rejected the claim, stating “Indikator Politik Indonesia tak pernah menulis atau mempublikasikan hasil survei nasional yang dilakukan pada Juli 2026 tersebut.” The organization clarified that official survey results are only released through its website and social‑media channels and that the circulated document does not follow the legal publication procedures for election surveys.
