Indochine bassist Marco announces retirement after 34 years

Marc Éliard, known professionally as Marco, has announced his retirement from the French pop-rock band Indochine after 34 years with the group. The 68-year-old bassist, who joined the band in 1992, shared the news via social media following the conclusion of the group’s Arena Tour.

In his announcement, Marco expressed gratitude to the band’s leader, Nicola Sirkis, for “these three incredible decades” and thanked the fans for the energy provided throughout his career. He stated his intention to “turn the page and put away my bass to enjoy a well-deserved retirement and dedicate myself to my family and loved ones.”

Marco’s departure follows a series of concerts across France, Belgium, and Switzerland, including a final performance at the Accor Arena in Paris. Since joining the band in the early 1990s, he has been a key part of Indochine’s enduring presence in the French-speaking music scene.
