Indonesia Accelerates SPHP Rice Distribution to Alor and Kediri Amid Price Stabilization Drive

Andi Amran Sulaiman, head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas), ordered state grain firm Bulog to ship Stabilisasi Pasokan dan Harga Pangan (SPHP) rice to Alor in East Nusa Tenggara. The directive, issued after reports of high local rice prices, set a target price of about Rp12,500 per kilogram and called for storage facilities to be built if needed. By July 2026, Alor had received roughly 764 tonnes of SPHP rice and additional aid, bringing total government rice supplies to the district to about 1.5 million kilograms.

In Kediri, the local Food Security and Livestock Office held a "Gerakan Pangan Murah" (Cheap Food Movement) at the An‑Nur Mosque in Pare. Four tonnes of SPHP rice were sold at Rp11,400 per kilogram, and sugar stocks were depleted within 30 minutes. The event was the 39th of its kind in the regency, aimed at keeping staple‑food prices low and easing household expenses during Ramadan.
