Indonesia and Japan's Yamaguchi Prefecture strengthen technical internship cooperation

Indonesia’s Ministry of Manpower has strengthened its technical internship cooperation with Japan’s Yamaguchi Prefecture through a new Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC). The agreement aims to increase the placement and acceptance of Indonesian participants in technical internship programs while establishing mechanisms for information sharing, problem-solving, and participant protection.

This collaboration is designed to align with Japan’s upcoming Employment for Skill Development (ESDP) policy, which is scheduled to take effect in early 2027. The initiative seeks to leverage Japan’s advanced technology and productivity culture to enhance the skills, language proficiency, and work ethics of Indonesian human resources. To support this, the ministry is exploring partnerships with Japanese companies, such as AIDEM Inc., to provide essential information on job vacancies and specific requirements to better prepare Indonesian candidates for the Japanese labor market.
