Indonesia advances global halal ecosystem and regulatory compliance
Indonesia is intensifying efforts to strengthen its halal ecosystem through regulatory guidance and international diplomacy. In Jakarta, LPPOM and the Jakarta Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (Balai Besar POM) held a seminar to encourage the cosmetics industry to comply with BPOM regulations and halal certification requirements. Officials emphasized that importers must prepare documentation, labeling, and supply chain traceability before products enter the Indonesian market to minimize non-compliance risks.
On a broader scale, the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) hosted the 5th Summit of Halal 20 (H20) in Jakarta. The forum brought together 450 delegates from 48 countries to discuss global halal trade and governance. The summit aimed to promote halal literacy as a universal standard and foster international partnerships, positioning Indonesia as a global initiator in the integrated halal economy.
