Indonesia advances Jakarta Vision for creative economy
Indonesia's Ministry of Creative Economy is working to strengthen the ‘Jakarta Vision’ by integrating academic research and innovation into the country's creative economy framework. Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya emphasized that academic contributions are essential to provide a strong foundation for the Jakarta Vision, which aims to position Indonesia strategically on the global stage. This vision is intended to serve as a basis for a United Nations General Assembly resolution regarding the creative economy.
The Jakarta Vision focuses on four primary clusters: technology, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation; sustainability, circular economy, and regenerative design; inclusivity and community empowerment; and the protection of intellectual property.
In a related effort to bolster the digital ecosystem, the Indonesian Domain Name Registry (PANDI) is collaborating with the Ministry of Creative Economy to strengthen Indonesian intellectual property (IP) through digital identity. PANDI aims to use domain names as a tool for digital identity to help creative works and cultural assets reach wider markets. This includes initiatives such as the digitalization of Nusantara scripts to ensure regional characters can function as creative assets within the digital domain system.
