Indonesia advances national car project via i2C initiative

The Indonesian government is currently formulating a national car project, with significant progress being made on the Indigenous Indonesian Car (i2C) initiative. The Ministry of Industry is providing technical support and coordinating with relevant agencies, including Danantara, to develop the program's roadmap.

The i2C electric vehicle project is managed by PT Teknologi Militer Indonesia (TMI). Following its initial clay model presentation at GIIAS 2025, the project has moved into a deeper technical phase. TMI is currently focusing on refining the design and engineering the vehicle's skateboard chassis in preparation for producing show cars and initial prototypes. The project's progress was recently presented to President Prabowo Subianto during an industry convention in August 2025.
