Indonesia advances national IP master plan 2027‑2036
Indonesia's Ministry of Law and Human Rights convened a National Intellectual Property Coordination Forum in Jakarta, where Deputy Minister Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej opened the meeting. The forum emphasized the need for cross‑sector collaboration to strengthen the country's IP ecosystem and to finalize the National Intellectual Property Master Plan for 2027‑2036.
Minister Supratman Andi Agtas said the plan should become a Strategic National Project (PSN) and serve as a ten‑year policy guide for aligning ministries and agencies. A dedicated coordination team will be created to oversee implementation, and agreements were signed with four strategic partners. The initiative aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's agenda to boost entrepreneurship, the creative industry, and technological development, with the minister noting that a strong IP ecosystem is essential for turning innovation into economic value.
