Indonesia advances to Suhandinata Cup semifinals after defeating UAE

The Indonesian junior badminton team has advanced to the semifinals of the 2026 Suhandinata Cup after defeating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) 2-0 in the quarterfinals. The match took place on Wednesday at the Cairo International Stadium in Egypt.

Indonesia secured the first game with a narrow 55-54 victory, followed by a dominant second game with a score of 55-31. Key contributions came from the women's doubles pair Atresia Naufa Candani and Yasinta Ristyna Putri, men's singles player Radithya B. Wardhana, and women's singles player Jolin Angelia. The mixed doubles pair Moses A. Simanjuntak and Reya Azzahra Yulianti, along with men's doubles pair Raihan D. Edsel Pramono and Anju Siahaan, also secured vital points for the team.

Following this victory, Indonesia is scheduled to face Malaysia in the semifinals on Friday, October 9, 2026.
