Indonesia allocates Rp 240.2 trillion for nutrition and Rp 329.5 trillion for defense in 2027 budget

Indonesia's 2027 state budget projections include significant allocations for nutrition and defense. The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has been allocated Rp 240.20 trillion for 2027, a figure agreed upon by Commission IX of the DPR RI. This budget is approximately Rp 30 trillion lower than the initial indicative ceiling of Rp 270.20 trillion following government efficiency measures. Of this allocation, Rp 232.88 trillion is dedicated to national nutrition fulfillment, with Rp 232.50 trillion specifically earmarked for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program targeting schoolchildren, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers.

Separately, the 2027 Draft State Budget (RAPBN) outlines a projected Rp 329.5 trillion for defense functions, representing a 10.1% increase from the 2026 outlook of Rp 299.1 trillion. This funding will be managed primarily by the Ministry of Defense and the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas).
