Indonesia allocates Rp508.2 trillion for 2026 social assistance
The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Social Affairs, has allocated Rp508.2 trillion for social protection programs in 2026. This budget is designed to support poor and vulnerable families across the country through various cash and non-cash assistance schemes.
Key programs include the Program Keluarga Harapan (PKH), a conditional cash transfer for approximately 10 million families. Benefits are distributed in four stages throughout the year, targeting pregnant women, young children, students, the elderly, and people with severe disabilities. Additionally, the Bantuan Pangan Non-Tunai (BPNT) program provides monthly food assistance of Rp200,000 to roughly 18 million beneficiaries, distributed in quarterly installments.
Other scheduled assistance includes the rice subsidy program managed by Perum Bulog, which provides 10 kg of rice per month. Other programs mentioned for the 2026 cycle include the Program Indonesia Pintar (PIP), Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU), and Health Insurance Contribution Assistance (PBI JKN).
