Indonesia and Cameroon partner on cassava and biogas projects

Indonesian companies are advancing plans to develop cassava processing plants and biogas projects in Cameroon. The initiative aims to transform cassava into tapioca through the transfer of Indonesian technology and expertise to meet local demand.

Following agreements made during the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2025, PT Asindo Tech has reached a $15 million deal with Cameroon-based Nego-Titans PLC to provide technology and production facilities for cassava processing. Additionally, PT Asindo Tech has partnered with Structural Lifeline Ltd to develop a 1.5 MW modular biogas power plant in Chad, valued at $3.2 million.

Agung Cahaya Sumirat, the Indonesian Ambassador to Cameroon, stated that the Cameroonian government supports these developments and that several banks have already committed financing. The projects are expected to be completed within the next two years, providing Indonesian businesses with investment opportunities in Africa while helping Cameroonian producers increase capacity for export.
