Indonesia prepares for FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026

Preparations are underway for the FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026. Indonesia's national team coach, John Herdman, is evaluating his squad ahead of the opening match against Singapore at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. Herdman noted that no players are guaranteed a starting position, as internal competition will determine the lineup. Potential debutants include Dion Markx and Luke Vickery, with Vickery expressing enthusiasm for his first tournament with the squad.

In Bangladesh, the national team has begun training in Jakarta following their arrival. The team has also released a 23-man roster for the tournament.

To ensure security during the event, the Indonesian National Police (Polri) are deploying 5,641 personnel to secure venues in Jakarta and Bandung, noting that they will require collaborative efforts for comprehensive safety management.
