Indonesia government launches ‘One Person, One Account’ program

The Indonesian government is implementing the ‘One Person, One Account’ program to boost financial inclusion from 93 percent to 99 percent. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto announced that the government has allocated Rp1.28 trillion for the initiative.

The program targets 25 million citizens aged over 17 residing in economic deciles 1 through 4. To facilitate the rollout, the government will provide an initial balance of Rp50,000 per account, funded by the state budget (APBN).

Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) and Bank Syariah have been designated to manage the program, including the preparation of beneficiary data using the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN) from BPS and data from the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS).
