KPK raids Muara Enim, BPK officials accused of bribery

In June 2026 Indonesia's anti‑corruption commission (KPK) carried out a series of operation tangkap tangan (OTT) in Muara Enim, South Sumatra, targeting officials of the Regional Audit Board (BPK) and local government. The raids seized documents, cash, foreign currency and electronic evidence worth about Rp1.9 billion. BPK Sumsel team leader Titin Rita Lestari and private contractor Augus Dwianggara (known as Angga) were detained and named suspects. Titin told investigators, "Saya enggak terima uang ya, ini tidak adil, saya cuma pelaksana," and added, "Pimpinan saya berjenjang," suggesting that senior BPK officials received the bribes. Other suspects include Muara Enim regent Edison, Education and Culture Secretary Abi Nurwardani, and several associates involved in the procurement of goods and services for the district. KPK also raided the regent’s office, the education department, and the residences of the accused, confiscating procurement‑related documents. Angga, previously a staff expert at the DPR, is also under investigation. The case highlights alleged collusion between auditors and local officials to conceal audit findings through bribery.
