Indonesia bank deposits reach Rp 10,513 trillion in September 2026

Total public deposits in Indonesian banks reached Rp 10,513 trillion in September 2026, representing an 8.65 percent year-on-year growth, according to the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS). LPS Chairman Anggito Abimanyu reported that growth varied by deposit size: deposits above Rp 5 billion grew by 11.91 percent, while those between Rp 100 million and Rp 200 million grew by 5.8 percent.

LPS also noted that the proportion of deposits receiving interest rates above the LPS guarantee rate rose to 36.06 percent in September, up from 34 percent in August. This increase was primarily driven by private corporate and state-owned enterprise (BUMN) deposits. LPS is monitoring this trend regarding fund collection competition and its impact on individual banks.

Additionally, LPS decided to maintain its guarantee interest rates for the period of October 1, 2026, to January 2027. This decision follows a 25 basis point increase in July 2026 and considers limited market interest rate movements. The institution continues to support the government's 'One Person, One Account' program to increase financial inclusion for the approximately 25 million Indonesians over age 17 who currently lack bank accounts.
