Indonesia bans Dutch founders of Bali expatriate run club

Indonesian immigration authorities placed two Dutch nationals, Joost Storms (35) and Hidde van Vliet (37), on a travel‑ban list after they were accused of running the Entourage Bali run club in a discriminatory manner. The club, marketed to digital nomads, organised a “Silent Disco Run” that attracted about 150 participants but reportedly rejected applications from Indonesian residents. One applicant, Annisa Rahmadani Maclean, posted on social media: “You postponed my application because I have an Indonesian name and number, yet you accepted my husband’s application right away because he has a Western name and number.” Bali’s Director General of Immigration, Hendersam Marantoko, ordered the arrest of any foreign nationals involved and said the event violated regulations. Storm and van Vliet fled to Singapore before officers could detain them. Entourage Bali has apologized, paused its events and faced criticism for operating without the required permits.
