Indonesia’s National Energy Council (DEN) visited the Cirebon coal‑fired power plant to verify that electricity supply remains stable across the Java‑Bali‑Madura system. DEN officials noted that coal‑fired generation still provides more than 60% of the country’s power, but the government’s long‑term policy aims to raise the share of new‑and‑renewable energy (EBT) to about 70% by 2060.

Separately, the youth‑rural association SPEDA, speaking on behalf of Pertamina, stressed the importance of maintaining nationwide fuel distribution, especially to remote villages. SPEDA highlighted that recent fuel‑price adjustments reflect global oil market volatility and called for measures to protect low‑income communities while promoting village‑scale renewable projects and digital energy solutions.
