Indonesia boosts local market sales and distributes 7.75 million tons of rice reserves
The East Jakarta Agriculture Festival (EastJakFest) in East Jakarta generated total market revenue of IDR 77.6 million, according to Taufik Yulianto, head of the local Food, Fisheries and Agriculture Office. The event, part of the city's 499th anniversary celebrations, provided a platform for small‑scale producers of food, agriculture and local products to increase sales and expand marketing networks.
Separately, Indonesia’s National Food Agency reported that 7.75 million metric tons of government rice reserves were distributed between 2023 and 2025 to stabilise supplies and prices. The distribution, coordinated with state logistics firm Perum Bulog, supported food‑assistance programmes, the rice price‑stabilisation scheme (SPHP) and emergency response efforts, benefitting millions of households and disaster‑affected communities. The government aims to maintain high stock levels and continue procurement from domestic farmers into 2026.
