Indonesia calls 17 players for FIBA Asia Cup 2029 pre‑qualifiers

The Indonesian Basketball Association (Perbasi) announced a 17‑player roster to compete in Round 1 of the pre‑qualifying stage for the FIBA Asia Cup 2029. The qualifying tournament is scheduled for 24 August to 1 September 2026 in Seremban, Malaysia.

The squad includes NCAA‑trained forward Derrick Michael Xzavierro, who now plays in Japan, as well as Anthony Bean Jr, Ali Bagir, Hendrick Xavi Yonga, Kelvin Sanjaya, Andakara Prastawa and other regular national‑team members. The players gathered at the Dewa United Arena on 2 August 2026 for intensive training under head coach David Reynard Singleton, assisted by Andri Malay, Ismael and Nico Donnda Fritzgerald. Rivaldo Tandra Pangesthio was appointed team manager.

Perbasi aims to use the pre‑qualifiers as a preparation platform to build a competitive side for the main FIBA Asia Cup competition in 2029 and to boost the profile of Indonesian basketball domestically and regionally.
