Indonesia celebrates National Batik Day 2026

Indonesia celebrates National Batik Day on October 2, 2026, honoring the textile's recognition by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage. The commemoration follows Presidential Decree Number 33 of 2009.

To mark the occasion, Shopee Indonesia is hosting the Festival Batik Nusantara from September 25 to October 2, 2026. The campaign features curated local brands, offering various items including kebaya, traditional fabrics, and accessories with discounts of up to 50 percent. Daniel Minardi, Director of Business Partnership at Shopee Indonesia, stated that the initiative aims to connect batik with the lifestyles of younger generations, such as Gen Z and millennials, by providing modern and heritage-inspired designs.
