Indonesia changes TKA scoring system for high schools
The Indonesian Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) has announced significant changes to the Academic Ability Test (TKA) scoring system for high school (SMA) and vocational school (SMK) levels for 2026. Under Ministerial Decree Number 56 of 2026, the scoring range for SMA/SMK will shift from the previous 0–100 scale to a new range of 200–800. This change aims to provide a more accurate representation of student abilities and assist schools in academic evaluation.
In contrast, the scoring system for elementary (SD) and junior high school (SMP) levels will remain unchanged, continuing to use a 0–100 scale with two decimal places.
Additionally, the registration deadline for the 2026 TKA for SMA and SMK students is set for September 27, 2026. To complete registration, students must possess an active National Student Identification Number (NISN), be enrolled in their final year of study, and have complete academic report records from grade 10 through grade 11 (or grade 12 for four-year vocational programs).
