Indonesia cinemas debut Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” among July film lineup
Indonesia’s major theatres will roll out a varied slate of new movies from 15 to 17 July 2026, spanning fantasy epics, family dramas, horror‑comedy and supernatural thrillers. The most prominent entry is Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” which adapts Homer’s classic poem and stars Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o and Zendaya as the hero Odysseus on his long journey home after the Trojan War.
Other titles include the horror‑comedy “Cek Khodam,” the supernatural adventure “Ghost Buzzer,” the folk‑horror “Lastri – Arwah Kembang Desa,” and the family drama “Takkan Kubiarkan Kau Menangis.” In addition, the 2014 drama‑comedy “Birdman,” directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu and starring Michael Keaton as a fading superhero actor, is now available for streaming on the Indonesian platform VISION+.
These releases give Indonesian audiences a mix of international blockbusters and locally produced genre films, reflecting the country’s diverse cinematic tastes.
