Indonesia conducts humanitarian and diplomatic mission in Vanuatu

The Indonesian Integrated Joint Task Force for Port Visit 2026 is conducting humanitarian and diplomatic missions in Vanuatu. As part of its maritime diplomacy in the Pacific and Oceania regions, the task force organized health services and medical treatments aboard the KRI dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo-991 on October 3, 2026.

In addition to medical aid, the task force provided material assistance and food supplies to the local population. The mission also included religious outreach, such as presenting Al-Qur’ans to the Muslim community in Vanuatu. Furthermore, the task force supported local healthcare infrastructure through limited renovations and the provision of medical equipment at the Saint Camile De Lellis Clinic.

On a security and diplomatic level, Task Force Commander Colonel Benedictus Hery Murwanto met with Vanuatu Police Force Commissioner Kalshem Bongran in Port Vila on October 2, 2026. The meeting aimed to strengthen bilateral communication and security relations between Indonesia and Vanuatu.
