Indonesia customs import bribery case moves to trial

Members of the House of Representatives have called on the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to pursue all parties implicated in a large‑scale bribery scheme involving the Directorate General of Customs and Excise. The case centres on Blueray Cargo Group officials – John Field, Dedy Kurniawan Sukolo and Andri – who allegedly paid about Rp 61.3 billion in Singapore dollars and provided luxury goods worth Rp 1.8 billion to secure favorable import clearances.

The KPK confirmed that the investigation file for three accused customs officials – Rizal (former Director of Enforcement), Sisprian Subiaksono (Head of Intelligence Enforcement) and Orlando Hamonangan (Head of Intelligence Section) – is complete and has been forwarded to prosecutors for indictment. A fourth suspect, Budiman Bayu Prasojo, remains under investigation. The case is now entering the prosecution stage and will be heard in the Jakarta Corruption Court.
