Indonesia Defense Minister Inspects Military Kitchen at Karawang Battalion

On July 29, 2026, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin visited the headquarters of the Territorial Development Battalion 941/Singa Perbangsa in Karawang, West Java. He was welcomed by about 500 soldiers and toured the base, including living quarters, farm areas, and the unit’s communal kitchen.

In the kitchen, he tasted fried tofu and observed the preparation of fried chicken, tempe, vegetables, rice and fruit, emphasizing standards of food quality, hygiene and overall readiness. He gave instructions to the kitchen staff, then joined the troops for lunch, underscoring the link between welfare provisions and combat preparedness.
