Indonesia deploys 48 generators for NTT disaster relief

The Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) is deploying 48 generators to support health facilities across seven regencies affected by recent earthquakes and tsunamis in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The initiative aims to ensure that medical tents and community health centers (puskesmas) can maintain essential services during the emergency response period.

Minister of ESDM Bahlil Lahadalia announced the plan while accompanying President Prabowo Subianto during a visit to Lapangan Berdikari in Nagekeo Regency on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. In addition to the energy support, the ministry and energy sector businesses have established approximately 30 emergency response posts to assist with logistics, health services, and search operations. The ‘ESDM Siaga Bencana’ program has been active since August 16, 2026, to provide humanitarian aid and maintain basic needs for displaced residents.
