Indonesia Deputy Human Rights Minister emphasizes human rights for 2045 vision

Deputy Human Rights Minister Mugiyanto Sipin stated that respect for human rights must serve as the foundation for the Indonesia Emas 2045 development goal. Speaking at a national dialogue in Jakarta, he emphasized that human rights should function as a living ethic across all sectors of society.

Mugiyanto argued that human rights protections cannot rely solely on regulations and institutions. Instead, they must be reflected in public behavior, government policies, and state administration. He called on citizens to actively reject discrimination, monitor power, and demand state accountability.

During the event, academic Frans Magnis-Suseno highlighted social justice and the eradication of corruption as essential requirements for achieving national independence goals. Additionally, observers noted that the success of the 2045 vision should not be measured solely by economic growth or technological mastery, but by broader social indicators.
