Indonesia Deputy Minister calls for youth leadership and constitutional awareness
At the Indonesia Youth Summit 2026 in Jakarta, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Akhmad Wiyagus urged young people to prepare themselves as leaders with integrity and partners in national development. During his keynote speech, titled “From Youth Camp to National Leadership Pipeline,” Wiyagus emphasized the importance of understanding the 1945 Constitution to recognize the rights and obligations of citizens.
Wiyagus described the constitutional principles as a social contract between the state and its people, noting that the state is responsible for protecting the nation and promoting general welfare. He encouraged participants to study the constitution to understand their identity as Indonesian citizens and to become statesmen.
The summit, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, included 160 selected youths from 38 provinces and representatives from Singapore. The event featured discussions, technology exploration, and leadership training through the Wirasena Youth Camp.
