The greeting was quickly linked in public discourse to the ongoing corruption case against Nadiem, who faces a ten‑year prison sentence and a 1 billion‑rupiah fine for the 2019‑2022 Chromebook procurement scandal.

Dasco clarified that the post was generated by his new social‑media administrator as a routine acknowledgment of public figures’ birthdays, with no political motive or hidden agenda. He rejected any implication that the message involved legal assistance or presidential prerogatives such as amnesty.
