Indonesia develops International Financial Center to attract global capital
Indonesia is preparing to establish the Indonesia International Financial Center (PFII) to enhance its competitiveness in attracting global capital. Government officials, including State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, noted that the initiative aims to provide the necessary infrastructure to support incoming international investment and strengthen Indonesia's position within the global financial network.
Mohamad Hekal, Vice Chairman of Commission XI of the DPR RI, highlighted that the PFII is intended to capture global funds for strategic domestic investments. He noted that approximately 65 percent of the estimated $3.2 trillion held by global family offices are currently seeking new financial hubs.
To maintain economic resilience amidst global geopolitical and commodity volatility, experts suggest a multi-pronged approach. Mohammad Mirdal Akib, CEO of Media Group, emphasized four key pillars for national economic stability: maintaining financial sector liquidity and stability, implementing sound fiscal policies, advancing investment and downstreaming, and managing energy transitions and strategic projects.
