Indonesia digital payment transactions grow 54% in Q1 2026

Digital payment transactions in Indonesia have seen significant growth, with data from the Indonesian Payment System Association (ASPI) showing that electronic money transaction values reached approximately Rp320.43 trillion in the first quarter of 2026. This represents a 54.37% increase compared to the same period the previous year. Transaction volume also rose by 56.07% year-on-year, totaling 6.21 billion transactions, driven largely by e-commerce and the widespread use of QRIS.

While top-ups account for only 19.96% of transaction volume, they represent the largest share of transaction value at 47.62%, indicating that users are depositing larger sums into digital wallets.

In response to these digital trends, Universitas Paramadina held an educational event focused on financial literacy and personal data protection. The initiative aims to encourage the younger generation to manage digital finances wisely and responsibly, emphasizing the importance of security in an era of increasing fintech and digital transaction risks.
