Indonesia distributes electric tricycles to drivers in Cirebon and Indramayu

President Prabowo Subianto has facilitated the distribution of electric tricycles to rickshaw drivers in West Java to improve their livelihoods and reduce physical labor.

In Cirebon Regency, the Yayasan GSN distributed 200 electric tricycles during a second phase of aid, bringing the total distributed in the area to 300 units. Local officials are working to provide BPJS Ketenagakerjaan social security coverage for these drivers to mitigate road safety risks.

In Indramayu, 320 electric tricycles were distributed, making it one of the regions in West Java with the highest number of recipients. Local government officials noted that the aid specifically targets elderly drivers whose physical strength has declined. To support the transition, the Indramayu administration plans to coordinate with relevant agencies to provide free battery charging stations at common driver gathering points.
