Indonesia regional updates: mobile SIM services and local security reports
Various regions across Indonesia are providing mobile driver's license (SIM) renewal services. In Bali, mobile units are operating in Badung, Gianyar, Tabanan, and Klungkung. In Yogyakarta, Sleman, Kulonprogo, and Gunungkidul have established schedules for mobile services (SIMMADE, SIMPITU, and SIMENOR) as well as fixed locations at Satpas and Public Service Malls (MPP). Bandung is also offering mobile services at locations such as The Kings Shopping Centre and Pasar Modern Batununggal.
Renewal requirements generally include an original e-KTP, the existing SIM, a health certificate, and a psychological test result. Standard fees are Rp80,000 for SIM A and Rp75,000 for SIM C, excluding medical and psychological test costs. These mobile services are specifically for renewals of active licenses and do not cover the issuance of new licenses.
Separately, in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), police have reported an increase in fires due to the prolonged dry season, prompting increased patrols in Gunungkidul, Bantul, and Sleman. Additionally, the DIY Regional Police (Polda DIY) confirmed that three suspects involved in the forced disruption of a worship service at the Gereja Misi Sejahtera (GMS) in Bantul have been named but not detained, as investigators deemed them cooperative during questioning.
