Indonesia Environment Minister Jumhur Hidayat receives stewardship message from Yogyakarta Governor

Indonesia's Environment Minister and head of the Environmental Control Agency, Mohammad Jumhur Hidayat, met with Yogyakarta Governor Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X on 24 July 2026 at the Kepatihan complex. The governor urged the government to not only manage but also nurture the natural environment, warning that careless policies could provoke negative ecological consequences.

Jumhur said the discussion gave him renewed courage and wisdom to strengthen environmental protection, emphasizing the need for prudent policy making and increased public awareness. He linked the governor's advice to the ministry's ongoing efforts to promote societal responsibility for safeguarding the earth.
