Indonesia Eximbank provides $8.5 million to PT INKA for New Zealand wagon export

Indonesia's Export Financing Agency (LPEI) approved US$8.5 million (about Rp 152.7 billion) in export‑working‑capital financing for state‑owned train maker PT Industri Kereta Api (PT INKA). The funds, delivered through the National Interest Account facility, support a contract to produce 340 Container Flat Top wagons for UGL Rail Service Pty Limited of Australia, which will be operated by KiwiRail in New Zealand. Deliveries are scheduled in three phases through 2026.

The financing marks the second LPEI support for PT INKA, following an earlier US$11.9 million package for its subsidiary INKA Multi Solusi. LPEI Director Anton Herdianto said the assistance fulfills the government's mandate to expand Indonesian manufacturing into global markets and to create jobs and strengthen the domestic supply chain. The export is presented as evidence that Indonesian rail products meet stringent international standards.
