Indonesia expands child‑friendly school and religious institution safety programs

Semarang Mayor Agustina Wilujeng announced at the City Children Conference that each school will create an anti‑bullying forum, strengthen digital literacy and adopt the new electronic child‑protection regulation (PP Tunas). The initiative aims to make schools safe, comfortable and responsive to children’s digital‑era concerns.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs, represented by Deputy Minister Romo M. Syafi’i, launched a parallel national programme to make madrasahs and pesantren safe spaces. It introduced updated regulations, a WhatsApp chatbot and the AMAN app for reporting physical, sexual or digital abuse, as part of the Gerakan Nasional Ruang Aman dan Nyaman bagi Anak (RANA).
