Indonesia expands commuter rail services in Solo‑Jogja and Jakarta
PT Kereta Api Indonesia’s KAI Commuter announced that on 7 August 2026 it will operate 36 daily KRL trips between Solo Balapan and Yogyakarta, with departures every 20‑30 minutes from early morning until about 21:00. The service runs across 12 stations, takes roughly one hour end‑to‑end and charges a flat fare of Rp 8,000, payable via multi‑trip cards and e‑money.
The Jakarta provincial government confirmed that the LRT Kelapa Gading–Manggarai line will be inaugurated on 26 August 2026, delayed from an early‑August schedule. The 11‑station, 28‑minute route is part of a Rp 12.1 trillion expansion plan that will link North, Central and South Jakarta and is expected to be followed by further extension toward Dukuh Atas.
