Indonesia expands digital partnerships with Switzerland and open‑source firms

Indonesia’s Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid said the country wants to deepen digital cooperation with Switzerland during the Swiss National Day 2026 celebration in Jakarta. She highlighted more than 70 years of bilateral ties and noted Switzerland’s role in multilateral digital forums such as the World Summit on the Information Society.

In a separate initiative, Indonesian firm Sivali Cloud Technology hosted a Partner Sprint 2026 event with Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu. The forum gathered Canonical executives and local partners to outline four strategic pillars aimed at accelerating open‑source‑based digital transformation and strengthening Indonesia’s digital sovereignty.

Both moves signal Jakarta’s push to broaden its digital ecosystem through international collaboration and open‑source technology.
