BPJS Kesehatan reports 98.6% of Indonesians covered by JKN, highlights financial stability and digital upgrades

BPJS Kesehatan announced that the National Health Insurance program (JKN) now covers 282.7 million people – 98.62% of Indonesia’s population – as of 31 December 2025. Utilisation of health services reached 725.3 million visits in 2025, averaging about 1.9 million services per day.

The agency’s financial position remains solid, with net assets of Rp 30.04 trillion and investment returns of Rp 3.94 trillion. Claims paid in 2025 totalled Rp 191.3 trillion. Digital channels such as the Mobile JKN app, WhatsApp‑based PANDAWA service and Care Center 165 have expanded access and administrative ease.

Innovation programmes like REHAB 3.0 have enabled 3.6 million participants to settle premium arrears, reactivating 2.24 million members, while the PASTI JKN service lets users verify their coverage status instantly. Economic studies attribute up to Rp 129 trillion of GDP growth, the creation of roughly 3.5 million jobs, and the removal of 8.1 million people from poverty to the JKN programme.
