Indonesia expands exports with salak shipments to China and catfish to Taiwan

Indonesia has achieved new export milestones for its agricultural and fishery products. In Bali, Deputy Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri oversaw the export of 3.5 tons of salak (snake fruit) produced by PT Bali Organik Subak to China. Valued at approximately USD 13,000, this shipment follows a business commitment made during the Indonesia Trade Mission to Shanghai in May 2026. China has become a primary market for Indonesian salak, with export values reaching USD 4.1 million in 2025.

Simultaneously, the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries facilitated the first export of 10.5 tons of frozen marinated catfish from Bandung, West Java, to Taiwan. Produced by PT Asha Nuova International, the shipment is valued at Rp400 million. Officials noted that the success is due to rigorous quality assurance and certification standards, including HACCP and CBIB, ensuring the products meet international requirements. Future shipments are expected to increase, with tilapia products also scheduled for export in September 2026.
