Indonesia Expands Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystems in Bantul and Bandung
Yusharto Huntoyungo, head of the Badan Strategi Kebijakan Dalam Negeri (BSKDN) at the Ministry of Home Affairs, called on the Bantul regency to strengthen its innovation ecosystem. He emphasized sustained collaboration among local government, schools, universities and the community, urging regional authorities to act as off‑takers of university‑developed innovations. A key initiative highlighted was a partnership with Universitas Cenderawasih, which sent more than 1,000 KKN students to the Yapen Islands equipped with over 200 innovations from across Indonesia for local development.
In Bandung, Deputy Minister of UMKM Helvi Moraza oversaw the KUMITRA Jambore 2026, gathering over 1,000 participants—including UMKM operators, students and local officials—to foster entrepreneurship under Presidential Regulation No. 38/2026. The event promoted the SAPA UMKM platform for integrated services, aiming to help achieve the national target of 10 million people engaged in business and employment.
