Indonesia expands Program Indonesia Pintar (PIP) for 2026

The Indonesian government has introduced new regulations for the Program Indonesia Pintar (PIP) effective in 2026. Under the new Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Regulation Number 11 of 2026, the program's scope will expand to include preschool and kindergarten students, aligning with the government's 13-year compulsory education policy.

The updated age range for recipients will shift from 6–21 years to 5–21 years, though these age limits do not apply to students with special needs. The government aims to reach approximately 19.48 million students from underprivileged families through this program.

Additionally, the new mechanism grants schools greater authority in the proposal process. Educational institutions will be responsible for updating and validating student data through the Dapodik system and verifying eligible candidates via the SIPINTAR application.
