Indonesia expands public service access through digital and integrated centers
The Indonesian Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (KemenPAN-RB) has expanded public service accessibility by establishing 313 integrated Public Service Malls (MPP) and 211 digital MPPs. These centers aim to simplify administrative processes, with each MPP integrating an average of 150 types of services.
Minister Rini Widyantini noted that digitalization has significantly accelerated licensing processes. For example, medical practice permits that previously took over two weeks can now be completed in less than one day via the digital MPP application. This shift is intended to make services more transparent, faster, and cost-free.
In a separate effort to strengthen local governance, the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) is promoting innovation and community empowerment at the village and sub-district levels. This includes field evaluations of high-performing local administrations, such as the Girian Weru Dua sub-district in Bitung, North Sulawesi, which has been recognized for its excellence in public service and community participation.
