Indonesia fights multiple fires across Bengkulu, Aceh and Riau
A warehouse belonging to a Special School in Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu province burned on 30 July 2026. Firefighters said the blaze, which caused about Rp5 million in material loss, was likely sparked by a cigarette butt discarded by a construction worker. No injuries or fatalities were reported.
In Aceh Besar, a land fire spread over roughly 10 hectares in the Bukit Radar area on the same day. Authorities deployed three fire‑engine units, TNI, police and local volunteers, but the cause remained under investigation. The incident also resulted in no casualties.
In Pelalawan, Riau province, two separate forest‑land fires burned an estimated 12.2 hectares on 31 July 2026. The Manggala Agni fire‑control team conducted ground operations and used water‑bombing helicopters to contain the flames. Again, no injuries or deaths were reported.
